In 2012 I started a photographic project exploring the life of young military wives in England and the struggle these young women face when their husbands are away on tour.
The idea was to draw the attention away from the men and their ventures off to Afghanistan and Iraq to finally give the women a chance to be heard. The war leaves everyone involved scarred, especially if one of the men shouldn’t return back home; the woman would be left with nothing, not even her home on the military base.
I met with two women, Alexandra and Catherine, but mid-way I had to cancel the project due to the difficulty for the women to proceed talking to me in regards to the rules of the Army. I never got a chance to display the project.
